Munich, June 28, 2022 – Fast psychosocial help for Ukrainian children and young people via smartphone – this is what SOS Children’s Villages offer. Together with the non-profit Berlin start-up “Kriszenchat”.
The “SOS Crisis Chat Ukraine” can be reached digitally. Young refugees can get support around the clock.
Crisis advisors who speak Ukrainian and Russian will help you – in real-time, without registration, free of charge, and confidentially. Easily!
Boris Breyer, a spokesman for SOS Children’s Villages, says: “This is a very important offer. The majority of children and young people have had traumatic experiences. They have witnessed or even been victims of violence, have had to leave everything behind, and in many cases, their fathers, brothers, or friends are still at war. The “SOS Crisis Chat Ukraine” supports them and helps them to process what they have experienced. The message: you don’t have to deal with it alone!” The SOS Children’s Villages support the project financially to strengthen the advisory team.
Over 700,000 refugees from Ukraine registered in Germany, 40 percent of them children and young people. However, the SOS crisis chat can also be reached from other countries, such as Poland or Ukraine. It will also be available via social media such as TikTok and Instagram or push messages in Ukrainian via SIM Cards (Telekom and Vodafone) scattered. ”We hope very much that it will be used by as many young Ukrainians as possible,” says Breyer.
The “SOS Crisis Chat Ukraine” is a part of the extensive aid measures of the SOS Children’s Villages for Ukrainian children and families in numerous countries. The aid organization is still active in Ukraine and supports people in many ways.
